Jordanian and Egyptian foreign ministers discuss cooperation

Jordan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates, Ayman Safadi, met with Egypt’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Sameh Shoukry, to discuss future collaboration and coordination. In the context of the trilateral cooperation with Iraq, Safadi and Shoukry discussed steps being taken by both countries to translate their “brotherly strategic relations” into comprehensive cooperation on the sidelines of the World Economic Forum in Davos.

Jordanian and Egyptian foreign ministers discuss cooperationThey also discussed how to put into practice the outcomes of the Jordanian-Egyptian-Emirati summit, held in Cairo on April 24th. A two-state solution, which would guarantee the legitimate rights of Palestinians, must also be coordinated in order to find a political solution to the Palestinian issue. In addition, the two ministers discussed regional and global issues of mutual interest. Their next meeting will be in a few days to continue exploring how to deal with such challenges in the future.
